  • Lars Fischer's "Jews in Old Postcards and Prints" is a terrific work which combines beautiful imagery with a rich history of the Jewish people. These postcards span the centuries and feature individuals and groups from the shtetl to the synagogue, through paintings and prints. When reading, I was reminded of the global Jewish community depicted in these photographs. These Jews, many of whom were observant, held different jobs as singers, scholars, garment workers—and each postcard provide snapshots of Jewish life.
